How an Electrolux washer reports a fault
An Electrolux front-load washer reports two-character “E” fault codes on its display. A fill, drain, door-lock, motor or control fault each has its own code, while load conditions such as excess suds are flagged separately so they are not mistaken for a part failure.
The codes you will see
E11 means the fill took too long — reversed or partly closed supply taps, low water pressure or clogged inlet screens — and E13 points at a tub or air-bell leak. E21 is a slow or partial drain from a clogged pump filter or a kinked drain hose. E35 flags a pressure-sensor overfill reading, common right after installation. E41 means the door switch reads open, while E42 is a door-lock device fault that needs a technician. E52 through E59 are motor, inverter and tachometer faults. EF0/EFO and EF1 flag a clogged drain-pump filter, and EF2 flags excess suds from too much detergent.
What to check, and when to call
For EF0, EF1 or EF2, clean the drain-pump filter, reduce the detergent and use the high-efficiency type. Check both supply taps for an E11, and hard-reset (unplug 30 seconds) for a fresh-install E35. A recurring door-lock (E42), motor or inverter (E52-E59) or leak (E13) code needs an experienced, independent technician with the correct genuine OEM part.
